Digital Prayer and Story Coordinator (maternity cover)

Serving In Mission UK is looking for a Digital Prayer and Story Coordinator (maternity cover) to inspire churches and individuals into prayer. You will develop and gather stories from a world-wide network to inform and envision people to pray and to go to those unreached with the good news of Jesus.

The vision of Serving In Mission is to work hand-in-hand with evangelical churches, to send and receive gospel workers equipped for cross-cultural mission, wherever people live and die without hearing God’s good news. This role is an integral part of our communications team, working alongside experienced professionals to create cutting edge content using all available tools.

This role is full-time maternity cover for a period of 9-10 months, starting from mid-September, 2018. Initially, you will be based at our office in Suffolk but will move with us to new offices in Cambridge in 2019.

This position has a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be a Christian. Accordingly, you will be an active Christian in full sympathy with Serving in Mission’s Statement of Faith and Core Values, able to work comfortably in an interdenominational evangelical environment and to sign the SIM Commitment wholeheartedly.

You will be tasked with being the beating heart of prayer communications in the mission, helping and inspiring others to pray effectively by gathering prayer requests and answers to prayer. You will be innovative in inspiring all generations into prayer, and will be able to use a range of digital media.

A key part of your role will be to inform, motivate and encourage churches to engage in cross-cultural mission; to pray, send people out, and reach out with the gospel where there is no witness. As you are inspired by God’s work amongst our missionaries and the church world-wide, you will be able to communicate that heart beat to a range of stakeholders in relevant ways.

The successful candidate will be creative, positive and gospel-hearted, with an excitement about the potential of digital communications to drive forwards God’s work in mission.

Experience in website content management, social media and video-broadcasting platforms will be beneficial in the role.
