The effectiveness of many ministries often depends on their ability to gain national and international sources of funding. Utilising your expertise and skills in grant/project writing you will enable multiple ministries to improve and expand the impact they have. Through training and developing local writers, you will equip these ministries with an important skill they need to transform more lives in the future.
Media and Arts
Do you have a communication background to use in mission? Would you like to help establish awareness of a holistic development program for the communities of our region? Open Door Development is a new ministry in Mahadaga, Burkina Faso, equipping the church for service while ministering to human need. We need creative people to help us share our story through media tools, both in Burkina and around the world. There are many ways that your God-given gifts can be used to further His kingdom.
Did you know that writing, journalism, or filmmaking skills are crucial to missions? You can highlight the urgent needs and opportunities that exist in Nigeria and communicate the story of God's work in this country to the world. We'd like the world to understand how persecution has impacted Nigeria and how Christians can respond in prayer and support of suffering believers.
Have you had experience in radio broadcasting? In South Africa, SIM is praying for a journalist-writer to research, write, and report information in a professional, honest, and ethical manner and to present it in various communication media such as, websites, newsletters, booklets, etc. In this role, you will also prepare and generate proposals in response to requests for expressions of interest.
Have you ever thought of using your creative abilities and your knowledge of graphic arts in a conference centre? Skogheim is a full-service conference and retreat centre once owned and operated by AEF and it has maintained a partnership with SIM since that time. Our mission is to provide a special place free of distractions where people of all ages may experience life-changing encounters with Christ through His Word.
Did you know that in comparison to the English-speaking world, French Christian literature is rare? This creates a challenge because books are very popular! Francophone Africa needs Christian authors to write good Christian books to make the challenge become a reality. French-speaking Christians need to learn how to live a godly life, too.
As you hear more and more about orphans of Ebola, AIDS, and other disasters, have you ever wished you could be involved in finding caring, Christian homes for them? At Arise (a SIM partner organization), we believe that God desires Christian families for children and that a loving, supportive, stable family environment is a tangible expression of God's will. Therefore, we ultimately desire to see every child being raised in a Christ-centred environment.
Do you have administrative and creative skills? How would you like to use them to encourage a growing strategic ministry speaking up for the sanctity and dignity of human life? This is an amazing opportunity to have a godly influence in many peoples' lives.
Are you experienced in web design? Did you know that this gift can be used in mission?
The media team in Ethiopia has been writing and recording radio programs for the Amharic speaking population. Now they wish to reach urban youth with these broadcasts by making them available on an Amharic web page.
Have you ever considered using your God-given technical skills in missions? Radio programmes in several languages are proving to be a fruitful means of outreach and teaching.
We need your technical skills to maintain and improve this ministry by supervising employees, repairing radio equipment, maintaining donor relations, scheduling, recording music and speakers for programs. Will you let God use you here?
