Serving In Mission has been sending missionaries to places where Christ is least known for 125 years. In the hearts and on the lips of everyone sent has been the name of a baby boy who was God with us, to save us: Emmanuel, Jesus.
At Christmas, we remember the gift of his birth. Jesus fulfilled God’s word, ‘on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.’ SIM is still working to bring this message of light and resurrection hope to the darkest places of the world, to those who need it most.
Syrian refugees Bahzad and his wife Merna have only come to know Jesus since their displacement. The civil war forced them to flee their home country and travel to another Middle Eastern country, where a local church, with which SIM is involved, offered them a room to live.
They joined the weekly church meetings and are now part of a network of believers meeting in house churches.
Merna is a teacher, serving refugee children in a child-friendly space SIM helped set up alongside local congregations.
Having been welcomed by Christian believers, they are now welcoming others and pointing them to him who brings light.
SIM needs your donations to serve the church in sending more missionaries to those who will otherwise not know Jesus.
