Since childhood, Emma has always known that God was calling her to serve overseas as her family hosted international students and missionaries in her home. She prayed for God to show her his heart and his way, which resulted in her going to serve with the IFES movement SCO in South Africa in 2009. Emma was initially sent from her home church and then after a few years of being in South Africa, she was asked if she would consider joining SIM. It was with great joy in 2012 that she joined SIM to serve with them globally in helping them think through how they were engaging in the university. In 2019, Emma was invited into the global leadership team and have been serving with the international directors team as one of their global directors.
As the Global Director of Ministry Outreach, Emma comes alongside SIM’s entity directors and ministry team leads to consider the many ways in which we can be reaching out to communities where Christ is least known. She also co-ordinates our team of Ministry Point People who serve the mission in a variety of areas from next generation to business ministries, from world views and diaspora to vulnerable communities, from theological education to equipping the church and discipleship.
Emma has two wonderful sending churches in Exeter and Sevenoaks and two other faithful churches that support her – one in West Sussex and where she worships in Cape Town, South Africa.
Please pray:
- for wisdom, discernment and creativity as Emma engages with our entity directors and ministry leaders in strategy, vision and mission;
- for open doors as we consider partnerships;
- for opportunities and open doors;
- that God would raise up workers for the harvest field that is plentiful;
- that Emma would seek God’s face in all things.
