James and Anna, together with their children Max and Phoebe, are a family from the UK who in the summer of 2025 relocated to West Africa. They have settled in Liberia on the Atlantic coast, where James serves at Trinity Dental Clinic in Monrovia and teaches at the Liberia Dental Therapy School, training the next generation of oral health workers in a country with just a handful of dentists for over five million people.
In Matthew 14 we read that Jesus “saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.” Inspired by this example, the Hunters hope to show Christ’s love in practical ways. Through providing much-needed dental care and investing in education, they hope not only to relieve pain and restore health, but also to point people to the One who brings lasting healing and true restoration.

- for God’s protection over them physically and spiritually as they serve in Liberia;
- for a strong marriage and a healthy family life;
- that Max and Phoebe would know God’s presence and peace in this new environment;
- that their ongoing fundraising needs would be met;
- for wisdom and effectiveness as James teaches and trains students at the Liberia Dental Therapy School;
- for the nation and people of Liberia, and for God’s blessing on the work of the SIM team there;
- that they would be encouraged daily by seeing the Lord’s hand guiding them.
