Praying every day for this work will make a big difference! Here’s how you could pray in the next few days.
Pray for a ‘Crochet and Christ’ course
Give thanks that some of the ladies who attended Tania’s ‘Crochet and Christ’ course in Botswana are now starting their own Bible study and crochet group with local ladies. Some of the ladies in the group face real hardships, so praise God that this initiative will help empower them practically, as well as spiritually.
Pray for Nicky in Nigeria
Pray for Nicky in Nigeria as she helps a number of the girls at City Ministries work through traumas from their past. Pray for the guidance and sensitivity of the Holy Spirit as Nicky listens and responds. Pray the girls will know their value and security in Christ as they process past hurts.
Pray for an evangelist in west Africa
Give thanks for a growing interest in the gospel message in a village in west Africa. In the evening, when people have finished tending their fields, a village evangelist welcomes 17 people to sit and study. Pray the Lord will use these times to ignite a passion for his word.
Pray for Naomi as she waits
Naomi is due to start lecturing at George Whitefield College in South Africa in two months’ time. Pray she will be able to return to South Africa and be reunited with lecture notes and a reliable internet source before the start of term.
Pray for young people growing in faith
Give thanks for the chance that lockdown has given to meet online in small groups. One youth worker reports that group discussions have been a positive environment to challenge and grow the faith of the young people. As restrictions ease pray relationships will only grow stronger.
Pray for Edna in her retirement
Give thanks for Edna’s ministry with SIM for more than 21 years. Edna officially retired as a mission worker at the end of June, but is continuing to serve overseas students online through the ministry of TESOL. Pray for Edna as she seeks to relocate to Northern Ireland and for the Lord’s guidance as to where he can best use her gifts and skills.
Pray for Walter and Ella in Zimbabwe
Pray for Walter and Ella in Zimbabwe as they partner with the Kulumi Project, distributing solar-powered devices that contain the Bible in the Shona language. Pray these devices will be well received and that God will speak into the lives of the Shona people, bringing hope in a time of great hardship.
