Safeguarding

We believe that all people are valuable and worthy of both respect and care, because they are made in the image of God. We believe that God is the defender of the vulnerable and that the Lord Jesus cares for and values all children.

We believe we have organisational responsibility, before God, to care for the children under the care of our organisation and to protect them from harm. We recognise that this harm may be intentional or unintentional, may come from a parent, another adult or child, or even from the child’s own actions.

Our Child Safety policy is designed to reduce the risk of harm to children under the care of Serving In Mission (SIM UK), and to reduce the risk of misconduct towards children by SIM UK workers.

SIM UK expects every individual to be treated with dignity, care and respect. SIM UK recognises its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children within it’s care, by earnestly striving to protect them from harm and seriously addressing concerns and reports of possible child safety issues, which may include physical harm, sexual harm, emotional harm, self-harm and neglect.

We have enacted both prevention and response strategies to form our Child Safety programme. If you have any concerns about the well-being of a child, please contact [email protected]
